The energy contained within the Day One Leadership Community residence hall is further leveraged by the creation of Day One "Pods." Made up of about 25 students, Pods provide a more personalized level of identity. During weekly meetings, the students in each Pod can collaborate with each other concerning the progression of their respective projects, challenges their groups are facing, and the overall Day One experience. The shared communication allows students to bond, building friendships while attending classes and forming study groups.
All Day One students will be pre-enrolled in a section of Economic Social Issues (EC 1033), a three-hour course introducing basic economic principles through the study of issues like unemployment, crime, pollution, and government debt. This course meets a University Core requirement for Social/Behavioral Sciences.
